FINAL DRAWINGS

DETAIL 1 - SOIL NAILING
Looking through the tectonic feature of the building, i planned to use soil nailing in order to balance the force of the steel structure. It holds the steel structure by holding it with steel wire wraps with concrete.
DETAIL 2 - CORRUGATED METAL & COLUMN JOINT
The use of corrugated metal is essential to generate circulation and natural lighting. I put it stacked, in order to prevent rainfall, while maintain it to create interesting sense of dynamic from the light penetration. The column which is made from concrete and H steel is joined by a metal plate which connected by bolts.

DETAIL 3 - JOINTS
This is the way to connect the steel plates for each edges of the structural skin. The use of big bolts will be very essential.

DETAIL 4 - JOGGING TRACK
The jogging track uses the structural skin as the base. The track is held by steel wire which is strong enough to create small amount of cantilever. In fact, the jogging track will be joined together as one so that it would not be broken when people used it. The jogging track kind of work like ring for the building, it is also strengthening the structural skin.

FINAL DRAWINGS

WEST ELEVATION
SECTION
From these drawings I want to show how the building connects with the hill. They are also presenting the different levels of height at the site within the building. From the section cut, i wanted to communicate the natural lighting that comes inside the sports hall while show the connection of columns with the steel plate.
SOUTH ELEVATION
SECTION
From these drawings, we can see the connecting jogging track which connects the levels. The section cut tell us about the possible circulation movement of people inside the building. Moreover, it also presents how the building programs might work.
EAST ELEVATION
SECTION
The elevation and are showing the relationship of the building with the water feature of the site. The picture is also showing how the natural light can penetrate to the fitness gym.

FINAL DRAWINGS

SITE PLAN
For the site plan, it shows how the building connect with its surrounding context. The main idea of the building is to connect levels of the site. The building will connect Bowen and Ivory street with boundary street, and the other way around.
FIRST FLOOR PLAN
GROUND FLOOR PLAN
The both drawings show on how the program might work, and possiblity on how people go through areas.

FINAL DRAWINGS

PERSPECTIVE FROM FRONT

BIRD EYE VIEW

PERSPECTIVE FROM REAR
From the perspective we can see the connection of the building with the people and the site, to see how it can works for the users. The first picture shows on how the people might work when people coming from the riverside, while the last picture shows the view of people from city cat.
BAR VIEW
As we go from the entrance, this is the first area that appears from the building.
SPORTS HALL
From this picture, I want to show the natural light that comes into the sports hall. The use of corrugated metal as the technology for the building provides dramatic lighting that can activate the space. This give the area the sense of dynamic when people dwell inside the area.
GYM
The gym's area is also uses the same technology as sport hall's. The big openings oriented to the east, give people chance to see the soccer field, while enjoying the city horizon.
JOGGING TRACK
At this area, I want people to enjoy the height of the area, just like the same thought that developed in folie design. At the middle of the building, people can meet up while enjoy the view of the river and the kangaroo point skyline.

MODEL DEVELOPMENT

For the final development, I made the jogging track and connected it with the site. I also put grasses in order to see the landscape of the model. In this model, i can see how the structure of the model working as a whole. It is very challenging to create this kind of model form.

MODEL DEVELOPMENT

The model is in its final condition with the jogging track and the site. Probably the site is not very accurate, but it can communicate the condition of the building with the context. Maybe, i will put greeneries for the finishing.

The model development started from the 10th week. The structural skin is the first part of the building which I made. Every week, I came up making the first floor, second floor and other additional structure outside the building. There are couple of things to do to finish the model, which are the contours for the model's base and the jogging track.
